Politico Identifies Radio’s Impact on the Presidential Campaign
There is a very interesting article by Ben Smith in the latest issue of Politico that identifies the Obama campaign’s essentially unnoticed radio strategy. According to Smith, the Obama campaign is using radio in battleground states to hammer away at some of the hot-button issues (abortion, stem-cell research, and gun cotrol) that they are not addresssing in their TV spots. And, according to the article, not only has Obama far outspent his opponent John McCain on radio, but the radio spots have also allowed the campaign to target some very local issues.
Further evidence of the power of radio.
